VivoxBio Histopathology Platform

At VivoxBio, our Histopathology Division provides comprehensive, expert-driven tissue processing, analysis, and interpretation services to support and accelerate your drug development programs. From necropsy to digital pathology, we offer end-to-end solutions tailored to your research needs.

1. Necropsy Support

Customized protocols for tissue collection, perfusion, organ weighing, and sample preparation (snap-frozen, OCT cryo-embedded, or formalin-fixed).

Biofluids provided fresh or frozen, with or without additives (EDTA, lithium heparin, sodium citrate).

Available biofluid types: whole blood, serum, plasma, buffy coat, red blood cells, leukocytes, platelet concentrates, whole bone marrow, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), urine, respiratory, gastrointestinal, and ocular fluids.

2. Tissue Processing

Sample trimming (grossing), dehydration, and paraffin embedding.

Embedding (Formalin Fixed Paraffin Embedded - FFPE / OCT embedded - Cryo)

Sectioning by microtome or cryostat.

Tissue Microarrays (TMA): using your samples, our tissue bank resources, or custom collections.

3. Routine & Special Stains

Routine: H&E for general tissue morphology.

Special stains: PSR, Masson’s Trichrome (collagen), Safrarnin O (Cartiliage) , PAS (carbohydrates), Oil Red O (lipids), Von Kossa (mineralization), TRAP (osteoclasts), and more.

4. Immunohistochemistry (IHC) & Immunofluorescence (IF)

Antibody-based detection of proteins and biomarkers in tissue sections.

5. Digital Pathology & Image Analysis

Whole-slide scanning for high-resolution digital imaging.

Quantitative image analysis (Aperio, ImageJ) for staining intensity, cell counts, and tissue area measurements.

Scoring systems with expert interpretation by pathologists or scientists.

6. Specialized Capabilities

Microdissection for brain, spinal cord, and dorsal root ganglia (DRG).

Bone/cartilage decalcification, embedding, and sectioning of mineralized tissues.

Clinical pathology collaboration for diagnostic interpretations.

7. Access & Logistics

Sample submission: clear requirements for fixation, labeling, and transport (formalin-fixed or fresh-frozen).

Turnaround time: typically 1–4 weeks.

Pricing: fee-for-service, varies by project scope and complexity.
